Abstracted destruction. The metaphorical and simplified rendering of a catastrophe. Broken and crushed materials mainly seen as an artistic challenge, of a stylistic choice. An earthquake transferred onto a domestic object, lived out in a piece of furniture. But earthquakes are often domestic, personal, to someone somewhere, to a lot of people at the same time.
A comic book style calamity, without dust and dirt and dredge and refuse.
The joy of detail. The model maker as God.
